The remnants of Harold will continue to bring rain chances for the Four Corners region as we head into the latter half of the work week. This follows strong monsoonal thunderstorms Wednesday night that were fueled by the remnants of tropical moisture. Flash flooding took over the Vegas strip and we are hearing that two people were swept away in flood waters according to local media.

Tuesday brought monsoonal storms to Arizona, which lead to flash flooding and the evacuation of Tusayan on the south rim of the Grand Canyon. Three foot deep water closed parts of HWY 64 forcing the evacuation of homes and hotels in the town. This meant access to the Grand Canyon Park was limited. The roadway is now back open but power is still out for communities in the area.

Showers and storms continue today across the Four Corners region as a large ridge of high pressure steers the storms from south to north through Friday. Expect up to 1" of rainfall through Utah, Arizona, Colorado, and New Mexico. By Friday, the heaviest of the rainfall will be centered around Denver, CO with the potential for flooding across the Front Range.
